Ooo, tracers.

Visually, it was very fresh for a stick figure animation. Very fluid, and the use of tracers was very fun. There was one point where it felt like both the characters were moving too slow (it was after the black one got punches through LEN) but besides that, the motions were very realistic.

So, while it was nothing very new or interesting, it looked very nice, and looking nice is sometimes enough to not get blammed.

So, you have some skill

Well, the animation of this short was very refreshing. The first bland "get outta bed" tween had me doubting at first, but the rest of your work showcases some good artistic talents, talents I would like to see used better in the future.

Oh, that sounded mean. What I meant to say is that this submission, though good for a first, still could use a lot of work before it becomes very popular. I would suggest having more of a script to start out with. Sit down and think of a good 3 minutes of what the character is going to be doing. It might take well over 3 minutes to figure out every nuance of the characters actions, but it will be well worth it. Then I might suggest getting a voice actor for milk, because that will add spice to the grey you seem to like using. Lastly, I might suggest more resolution in the end, but that will come with sitting down and writing the script.

All in all, the animation there was was very nice. Just push yourself a little harder to put out an amazing product as you work on the next flash in the milk series.

A good chuckle

Well, it was nice for a chuckle. Short and too the point, it didn't drag out the punchline. It's not going to be very high scoring, unless a lot of people chuckle at it, but I think it will survive.

Anyway, if you make future animations like this, make the response from "you" faster. I was thinking to myself, "why is the character on our side of the screen using the 'search and destroy' typing method?" It's no big thing, it'll just make the animation go a little faster. And as everyone knows, comedy is in the timing.

Visually Pleasing

Well, the submission was definitely visually pleasing. Interesting idea to show your drawing process, and it was executed very well. The only thing I would like to see is more of a point. The ending was quite sudden, and I was expecting some sort of culmination for all of that animation.

Don't get me wrong, it looked nice. There's no doubt you're an artist. You're just an artist who needs a writer so that his flash has more purpose and direction.

meh

Well, it was alright for a sprite animation. I was looking for more of a point than to just test out fighting animations, but it wasn't blam-worthy.

Some things I would suggest: Voice acting. If you already are using the sprites, you could just use sound bites from the show. More of a reason for South Park to be there. Like maybe a little intro of them getting sucked into their Video Console. And lastly, Cartman. I was waiting for him to come and add a large element of humor to the movie.

So it was ok animation-wise, but work on the plot and voices.

BlackPlastic responds:

I was going to take your review seriously until I saw the words cartman.

Can people please shut up about it.

Huzzah, I was a the savior.

Anyway, this animation is definitely very skilled. Your character design, though simple, is streamlined and easy to reproduce for quick production times that will make this apple series successful in the future. The music was definitely a very good choice.

The only thing I might suggest to make future apple animations better in the future is to reduce the frame rate. Currently, it makes the animation a little too hyper, and it makes some of your animations run together. It's a little bit like watching the animation in onion skin mode. So, take the suggestion or not, I look forward to seeing more apple in the future.

Pixl responds:

Yeah, I kinda noticed that too, but when you've already started you movie with a certain FPS, there's no turning back :P
I will defenitley bring the frame rate down, not only because of this, but also cause I plan to have more frame by frame animations and action in the next episode.

Thx for the review!

Decent indeed

Very decent for a sprite animation. I think if you really want to make your work stand out as special, you should move away from them as a medium, but it's you're choice.

The sounds were nice. I might like to have heard some voice acting instead of penned in speech bubbles. Voice acting is another good way to keep a sprite comic from getting stale. And all it requires is getting a few friends together with a mic.

Story could use a little work, I know it was based off your experience, but to speak to a broader audience, you might want to broaden what you draw inspiration from.

Overall, mediocre, but still better than a lot of crap that gets submitted.

Quite a surprise.

Despite the fact that the animation was pretty par (static images and all), this submission made me chuckle. And that's something I can't say for a lot of the movies I've been viewing today. It is a spot on parody of those silly commercials, and there's just something inherently funny about a diabetes sandwhich. The disease isn't, but well, it's like I've definitely had a heart-attack burger, so I can imagine a diabetes sandwhich.

Anyway, very funny. I'm sure it will not get blammed because you kept the pace moving and didn't drag it out much longer than you needed to like I'm doing right now just going on and on and on.

Very Nicely Done

I've been watching crappy submissions all day, so believe me when I say, this submission is very much not crap. The animation style is nice and fluid, almost like each frame was individually drawn. I also very much liked the voice acting. The accents alone (while I know they're just normal for you) add a very distinct element of humor over here in the states.

So very nice job. I hope to see more from you in the future, just so that I can keep my sanity in this blam-fest known as NG.
